Seta can support your school’s IAG through school talks, visits and careers events as follows:
School Assemblies
Seta staff are available to deliver presentations at assemblies to year 11 – 13 pupils on the subject of Apprenticeships We will specifically feature Engineering, Production, Warehousing, Business Admin and Customer Services. Depending on availability it may be possible to bring a company seeking apprentices with us to these assemblies.
Careers Events
Seta staff can attend careers events for Years 10 – 13 to advise them on career choices and what apprenticeship are and how they work.
School Visits to the Seta Training Centre
Seta is able to facilitate school visits of up to 15 pupils at a time to the Seta training centre in Washington for pupils interested in Engineering. These visits would include a short presentation on engineering apprenticeships, a tour of the training facilities and the opportunity to talk to current apprentices when possible. The visit lasts between 40 minutes – one hour and must be booked well in advance.
CV Writing, Application Completion and Interview Top Tips Sessions
Seta can provide a CV Writing, Application Completion and Interview Top Tips session for pupils in Year 11. This covers what individuals should put into a CV and apprentice application form and what they should not, what employers look for in individuals and how to impress in an interview. The session is for all year 11 pupils and lasts between 40 minutes – one hour.

STEM Ambassadors
STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related jobs and disciplines across the UK. They offer their time and enthusiasm to help bring STEM subjects to life and demonstrate their value in life and careers. STEM Ambassadors are an important and exciting free-of-charge resource for teachers and others engaging with young people in and outside of the classroom.
STEM E-Library
The STEM e-library provides thousands of on-line resources linked to a wide range of activities and ideas for the classroom and beyond.
GoCareer app and Web portal
The GoCareer platforms make the process of deciding which next step to take after school, college or university a whole lot easier by putting all of your options into one place! The new innovative GoCareer mobile app displays every further education pathway from A ‘Levels to Apprenticeships at all providers. Compare the courses with peer reviews to help you decide what course best suits you and apply in four quick and easy steps! Use the GoCareer web portal to understand more about the range of careers that subjects you are studying now can lead to and discover what your future may look like!
