Applying to Seta - what you need to know

Applications for Engineering Level 3 and Level 4 Apprenticeships that will start in September 2024 are now open

We are also accepting applications from individuals that are undertaking or have completed a practical Level 2 Engineering course e.g. Performing Engineering Operations, Electrical Installation, Welding, that may be able to start as a Year 2 apprentice. A skills test will be required to enable you to do this.

The application process is straightforward. Please read the steps below:

1.Complete an online application form. ​Please click here to download the application form. 

Please download, save, complete in full then emailed your completed application form to apprentice.applications@seta.co.uk as soon as possible. We have companies waiting for apprentice applications.

We recommend that prior to do so you watch our CV Writing Workshop.

All Seta recruitment is done via email so please check you emails regularly including spam. 

2. Once you have sent in your application form phone Seta on 0191 416 2860 to book a 10 minute chat with a member of Seta staff. We are open Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm and Friday 8am – 1pm.

3. If you wish to continue your application you will then be invited to:

1. Attend assessment session on your confirmed date.
2. Attend an interview with Seta staff. We recommend that prior to do so you watch our Interview Techniques video Click here to access this.

4. If successful at assessment, we will send your CV out to companies immediately.

We work with many large and small employers from around the region providing some great opportunities for individuals to start a career in engineering. However we need you to start this process as soon as possible in order to assist you with gaining an apprenticeship.
