ABOUT THIS COURSE

An excellent practical introduction to MIG, MMA and TIG welding, this course provides instruction in safety, drawing and symbol interpretation, equipment set-up and welding operations,  Instruction takes place both in the classroom and in Seta’s state-of-the-art workshop facilities. 

This course is ideally suited to those with little or no welding experience.

CONTENT

  • Safety relevant to TIG welding: protective equipment; power sources; ventilation; fire prevention
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and symbols with regard to TIG welding
  • TIG welding equipment and controls: introduction to the unit and a description of its operations
  • Preparing material for TIG welding
  • Equipment set up
  • TIG welding operations: instruction and practice in a range of operations/joints to develop TIG welding skills
  • Faults recognition
  • Safety relevant to MIG welding: protective equipment; power sources; ventilation; and fire prevention
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and symbols with regard to MIG welding
  • MIG welding equipment and controls: introduction to the unit and a description of its operations
  • Preparing material for MIG welding
  • Equipment set up
  • MIG welding operations: instruction and practice in a range of operations/joints to develop MIG welding skills
  • Safety relevant to MMA welding: protective equipment; power sources; ventilation; and fire prevention
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and symbols with regard to MMA welding

  • Welding electrodes

QUALIFICATION GAINED

This course is not externally accredited. Delegates will receive a Seta Certificate of Successful Completion.

REQUIREMENTS

No prior experience is required.
