The Company
This is a trusted supplier to major customers in the defence, oil & gas, marine and energy industries for over 30 years, this company is distinguished within the UK as a centre of excellence for engineering design and manufacturing services.
Job Role
The role is 37 hours. Monday - Thursday 07.00 -17.00 hrs and duties will include:
- Preparing and operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as milling, grinding, drilling, turning etc.
- Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings.
- Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Ensure that all manufactured goods meet the required standards.
- Help with daily house keeping tasks. Including cleaning, maintenance of coolant and general labour where required.
- Complete all necessary college work on time and to the correct standard.
- Individuals must be able to work alone and as part of a team
Applicants must have GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths and ideally ICT.
Salary
The successful applicants will start in September on a salary of £7.55 per hour with increments based on successful progression.
