Essentra Filter Products - Apprenticeships And Training Courses

Essentra Filter Products is the world’s leading independent solutions provider and partner for special filters and scientific services to the tobacco industry.

Its facility in Jarrow Tyne and Wear, has worked with Seta to provide both apprenticeships and deliver a range of other engineering training programmes.

Seta is one of Essentra Filter Products’ preferred training partners and delivers a range of courses to its staff, including multi-skilling, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and PLCs.

Simon Thomas, Regional HR Manager, Essentra Filter Products:

“Seta has an excellent reputation within the North East Region for the quality of its training. Their staff know our company, so they know what we want, and what type of engineers we require.

“They are very flexible in terms of offering bespoke training and can adapt courses to our specific needs. For instance, they developed a multi-skilling engineering course specifically for Essentra Filter Products, and have gone further to tailor training to an individual staff member’s requirements.

“Another advantage is that Seta provides an on-site assessor, who provides valuable feedback to us. This feedback than influences our strategy on skills development.

“In addition, by continuously training and developing our staff – with Seta’s support – we are able to ensure that as a company, we can remain innovative, both in terms of our processes and products. We can informally discuss technical issues with them, which is also very helpful.

“The high level of training Essentra Filter Products’ personnel receive also means that we have very high staff retention rates, as our employees feel that they can grow and develop within the company.

“Seta has good facilities, experienced trainers and respect within the engineering sector - there is trust in their depth of knowledge, and staff who have taken their courses really feel that they have been taught by engineering experts.”
